Lieutenant colonel Shane Doolan knew there was more to life.

Shane Doolan was born on a banana plantation in Jamaica that his family had worked on for 350 years. He sought a life doing more than just chopping bananas so he came to the United States. Today, he serves as lieutenant colonel of the UNC U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps and chair of the Department of Military Science, doing whatever it takes for his cadets to succeed.
