Putting the NC in Science

"The whole point of the 800 or so events is to have fun with science."

"The whole point of the 800 or so events is to have fun with science."

The brainchild of Morehead leadership, the North Carolina Science Festival is a nationally recognized leader in the celebration of STEM. Based on our notion of a 21st century version of the state fair, Morehead has produced the festival every April since 2010. In partnership with sponsors, volunteers and event hosts that collectively number in the thousands, we produce an annual STEM extravaganza — the first statewide science festival in the nation and a rite of spring in North Carolina. The whole point of the 800 or so events is to have fun with science. In the process, the more than 1.8 million North Carolinians who have participated over the years got the message that STEM disciplines are accessible and important to their futures and the collective future of our state.
