He’s not a coach and he’s never been to the Olympics, but Carolina’s Bing YuOpens in new window has helped athletes train for eight Summer Games, including the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.
After his first career choice—professional athlete—fell through because he was too short to throw a discus and he injured his elbow throwing the javelin because his technique was not right, Yu figured he’d be a doctor, like his parents.
Fortunately for Tar Heel and U.S. athletes, his homeland, China, had other plans.
