Not a Love for the Stories, but for the People in Them

“Coach doesn’t tell these stories over and over because he loves the stories. He loves the people in them, and that’s why he busts them out whenever he can. That affection and trust trickles down to his players.”

As a senior, Marcus Paige was, self-admittedly, in a bit of a slump and wondered if moving back to point guard could break it.

But Roy Williams, like so many Tar Heel mentors across the Carolina campus, created a nurturing environment for Paige, one that made him a better player, student and person. And Williams did it, in part, with stories of Tar Heels who came before.
