The Meades have never been to Chapel Hill, but when their son, Colton, suffered a severe reaction to peanuts as a toddler, they decided that the best way to help their son and others like him was to help advance research. The couple generously supports critical research in the Department of Pediatrics at the UNC School of Medicine aimed at increasing tolerance over time with the long-term goal of developing treatments for food allergies.
