While Livis Freeman visited his grandmother in a nursing home during his senior year, he noticed many of the other residents had no visitors. His next visit, he invited his friends, many of them Carolina basketball and football players, to go with him.
“I don’t know what I just did, but I want to figure out a way to do it for the rest of my life,” Freeman thought.
So he created a new organization — Athletes Making a Difference — and organized player visits to the Ronald McDonald House, the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service Community House and more. After college, Freeman worked for sports agencies and decided to create his own business called 4ourFans, helping athletes build a charitable image and give back to their community.
Now as an assistant professor teaching public relations, he’s passing on his knowledge and experience to Carolina students.
