In math, equations are used to stand for information too large or small to look at as a whole. Joaqín Drut, a theoretical physicist at Carolina, focuses on developing new ways to calculate huge numbers — too large to handle — that look into the inner workings of the universe.

Drut believes that even if you had all of the information that makes up the universe, you would never be able to store it all away. There is still so much to be learned about the subject, and he’s trying with urgency to find new knowledge.
