“People say accounting is boring. I find it interesting. I wanted to be here in the MAC Program. I wanted to learn more.”
As a kid growing up in Houston, Alexander Jackson ’15 ’16 (MAC) was no stranger to getting into trouble. That led him to live with his great aunt and uncle in the Houston suburbs and then in Dallas. But it was at the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club that Jackson began to focus; mentors, who were community business leaders, opened his eyes to how a business career could help him succeed beyond anything he thought possible. The Carolina Covenant made college possible for him. And the Master of Accounting Mentorship Program, which offers tools and resources to help Covenant Scholars considering business careers, led him to pursue a Master of Accounting degree, which he graduated with in May 2016.
