PlayMakers Repertory Company

Rooted in an esteemed 100-year tradition of playmaking at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, PlayMakers’ mission is to produce relevant, courageous work that tells stories from and for a multiplicity of perspectives. We believe that theatre can have a transformational impact on individuals and entire communities, and we are committed to making our work accessible to all. Each season, PlayMakers produces professional productions on two stages at the Joan H. Gillings Center for Dramatic Art, bringing new and classic works to more than 50,000 audience members annually and have served over 170,000 area youth through our award-winning engagement programs. PlayMakers also serves as the professional laboratory for UNC-Chapel Hill’s Department of Dramatic Art, nurturing future generations of artists and audiences.
