Accelerating the advancement of women in business and society

A discussion surrounding the need for more women MBA students at a UNC Kenan-Flagler alumni weekend ignited a spark between Beth Struckell ’82 (MBA) and Kit Bredrup ’93 (MBA) — a spark that led to the 100 Women Initiative.

“We set a goal to get 100 women supporters and, with their support, to ultimately enroll at least 100 women in the full-time MBA program,” said Bredrup.

UNC Kenan-Flagler launched the initiative under the larger umbrella of its diversity and inclusion programming and developed a strategy in collaboration with the MBA admissions team and student organization Carolina Women in Business.

“Having more women in leadership positions is good for business and for society,” said Doug Shackelford ’80, dean at UNC Kenan-Flagler. “This is a movement that will have a lasting impact on the lives of future leaders and the UNC Kenan-Flagler community.”

Struckell agrees: “We are passionate about getting more women into our programs. Join us!”
