Carolina Women in Philanthropy

Fifty years after female students began to arrive as freshmen, the cumulative impact can be seen and felt in every area of campus. Fully integrated at all levels of leadership, women at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are poised to push the boundaries of achievement and excellence for all kind.

Carolina is our place, a place of inclusion and empowerment through education and service. Led by increasing numbers of female deans, vice chancellors, department chairs, distinguished faculty and researchers, women hold positions at all academic and administrative levels at Carolina.

Women leaders are embedded in meaningful ways throughout the University. From scholastic accolades to research breakthroughs, from wins on the playing field to their work in communities around the world, Carolina women lead the way. Barbara Rosser Hyde ’83, Julia Sprunt Grumbles ’75, Vicki Craver ’92 and Jennifer Halsey Evans ’94 are all notable Tar Heel alumnae who are serving their alma mater in leadership roles in the Campaign for Carolina.
