Leadership: Shaping the FutureCompanies large and small value UNC Kenan-Flagler graduates for their ability to hit the ground running and make a meaningful impact early in their careers. This results from top faculty teaching phenomenal students, all supported by outstanding staff. Together, we will seek and shape leaders of the future.
Centers of Excellence: Creating Productive PartnershipsAt UNC Kenan-Flagler, we put academics into action by sharing our research and lessons we’ve learned with business, government and other key economic sectors. The Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and our centers for real estate, entrepreneurial studies, family enterprise and others have emerged as leaders in showing how collaboration achieves success greater than the sum of its parts. We welcome your partnership.
Grow: Increase Innovation to Speed ProgressTo remain at the forefront of innovation and continue to provide maximum economic and social value to the state and world, Carolina must increase the number and speed of innovations created by faculty, staff and students. Support will fund three priorities: (1) Innovate Carolina Alumni Network Fund, (2) Matching/Sidecar Venture Funds and (3) Social Innovation Initiative.
Build: Create Spaces Where Ideas Come to LifeTo bring their ideas to life, innovators need spaces to meet, work, experiment, test and collaborate. We envision a connected corridor of space on and off campus to meet demand and grow our innovation capacity. We have four specific needs: (1) Proof-of-Concept Center, (2) Wet Lab, (3) Makerspaces and (4) Co-working and Shared-support Spaces.
Getting Ideas to Market FasterUniversities are known for their slow-moving ways, but in today’s fast-changing technological environment, we must focus on methods and ideas that accelerate the pace of moving entrepreneurial ideas with commercial promise or social impact to markets and people in North Carolina and around the world.
Facilities: Growing Not Just Bigger, But BetterOur goal is to accommodate more talented students who want to follow their dreams of not only studying business but also using it as an agent for change. Making innovative business education more accessible to those who are leading transformation includes physical improvements. We are planning additions and expansions to our campus buildings to improve access and solve existing space constraints.
Our MissionResearch: To strengthen our cross-campus environmental research capacity by supporting a multi-disciplinary community of scholars that enhances collaboration, increases sharing of knowledge, and identifies solutions to the world’s critical environmental problems. Education: To work in partnership across UNC and with external partners to coordinate and deliver 21st century educational programs that provide students with the experience and skills to thrive in a growing global economy. Outreach: To engage and serve communities in North Carolina and around the world by putting new environmental knowledge into action.
